Spring, Summer and Fall Activities

Hiking Trail

Head out from the Inn on our beautiful trail that winds its way back through the bush to the abandoned rail line.  Here you can hike for miles to your heart's desire and just enjoy the serenity.

ATV'ing

You can ride your ATV right from the door, along our 1km trail that links to the B102 snowmobile trail.  From this main thorough fare you can ride the many trails of the Madawaska Valley, Whitney and Lake St. Peter areas.

Hot Tub

Open year-round and always a favourite, our six person hot tub is a great way to relax after a day spent on the road or out-of-doors.  Located in a separate cabin, it is under cover yet still in the fresh air and available for use at any time.

Cycling

There are few locations east of the Rockies that provide more challenging conditions for road cyclists or more accessible terrain for mountain bikers. Madawaska roads are hilly and spectacular in their beauty. “Bike tours of the Ottawa Valley” is a great book put out by the Ottawa Valley Tourist Assoc. and is available by phone for a small fee at 1-800-757-6580.

Mountain bikers can head out right from the Inn. With Warwick’s help you can find either flat or challenging trails to ride in the beautiful back woods.

Both the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association and Explore The Ottawa Valley web sites offer extensive information on cycling in the Ottawa Valley.

Winter Activities

Cross country skiing, snowmobiling, hiking and snowshoeing can all be done right from the Inn.  Our one kilometre trail winds through the bush and takes you back to the Ottawa, Arnprior & Parry Sound Railway offering miles and miles of relatively flat trail to explore.  The trail is wide, well maintained and leads right back to the steaming hot tub after your days activity.

If you are looking for a dog sled adventure Highland Wilderness Tours is the place to go.  Just 25 minutes from the Inn they provide a wonderful day’s activity out of doors with their fabulous dogs.
